I did. Evidently it was a Roadrunner/TWC problem. I still don't get why CD was the only site that I got this message on. It may have been why my internet security program got so messed up I had to uninstall it and then reinstall it to get it to work right. Thanks, Time Warner! (hmmmm...wonder if Manu had this problem, too.....)

Unhappy If anyone knows please explain......???

I also could not access C-D site! What a disappointment to hear it was a TW/RR issue!!! I thought maybe the site had been hacked or was down for updates/or some other reason. Can anyone of you explain how it could be a TW/RR issue? Yes-I have TW/RR and lately I have been disappointed with the service, and will be considering other options.

It was probably a routing issue. The simplest way to explain that is that TW has pre-defined ways to get to certain parts of the Internet, like the data center where City-Data's server resides. Either their network lost track of the correct route to get to City-Data or something changed on the route that they use to make that connection (perhaps some network device failed or a backhoe cut a fiber-optic connection along that route) and they weren't prepared with a backup route to get around the change. I know we have some knowledgable IT folks on the forum, so I hope they'll forgive my simplification.

Other providers, like AT&T, were unaffected because they get to City-Data using a different route.

Bah...it's all hocus-pocus!
My guess is that someone at TWC got wind of all the threads about the competition and alternatives and didn't want word to get out to the remaining subscribers!
