That can't be right, the city of St. Louis is mainly a ghetto
It would be like saying that San Antonio's city limits is a 10 mile circle around downtown.
So St. Louis is always gonna be on the top 3.

Nope, those shows go where the crime is high; and San Antonio has been featured on one before. If I am not mistaken, it was an episode of The First 48 where a female body was found on the Southside of town. The local detectives found a receipt for a convenience store on her, went there and reviewed the surveillance tape the store had and identified the individual that was with her at the time. I think that person turned out to confess to killing her.

But the bottom line is that crime is not that bad here, and the claim that the city has the highest crime rate in the US is nothing short of ridiculous! Moderator cut: orphaned

That article is misleading at best, plain and utter stupidity in reality. Anyone who thinks San Antonio of all places has the highest crime rate in America needs a mental evaluation STAT!

I'll tell you where the highest crime rate is, it's E. St. Louis, IL. This is the most corrupt government in the US and also the most crime. But most of the crime goes unreported. Like when a pimp was shot 17 times in 2006 and no report in the paper about it. I was nearby when it happened so I know it happened.

That truism is used nationally, but it was invented in San Antonio.

Oh, and Bowie, I wish I could rep you again for your spot-on conference, but I do think you nailed it. Anyone who watches the local news would think this was Beirut!

Cheers! M2

local news tend to over hype things, they are just in it for the raitings. Honestly I wouldnt think SA is more dangerous than DET, LA, ATL, NO etc...

*Hoping these people don't commit a CRIME against each other.* Would that make the crime rate in SA higher?

(sorry, couldn't resist)

I hear that. I live next to and have to sometimes drive through East St. Louis, and we don't have concealed carry in IL.
My company may be moving me to San Antonio. I hope it's less humid, and no more driving through ESTL like areas.

Crime is going up in San Antonio and this is a fact. The problem is SAPD and BCSO are short handed, especially BCSO. You can blame the city manager and commissioners court for this. Both the city and the county are on a hiring freeze. Officers and Deputies are leaving (retirement, military, etc.) and their spots are not being filled.
I fear this is going to turn ugly, real bad, real soon...
