A twofer today, one good, one bad...

Coffee and breakfast at JIMS, against my better judgment I ordered the Eggs Benadict special. I knew I was in trouble when the waitress asked me how I wanted my eggs! In any case, they arrived almost hard boiled, sauce was not good either. Avoid.

Family dinner at Walzem LUBYS. While not as good as when I was a kid, I still enjoy it. Got the 2 for 20 all you can eat, kids had the Saturday 2.00 kids plate special, dinner and drinks for 4 for $24! I'm still full

Had lunch at the Papalote on 1604 and stone oak, thought it was ok and nothing to write home about.

Insignia. I'll leave the major details out but the place needs a lot of work.

Entree was cold.
Wine list was limited, although I ended up truly enjoying my glass of Cab - Texas wine, smelled like dill.
Salad was not brought out split plate with Hubby as requested. Tomato in the Greek (said salad) nearly liquified upon being cut.
Our dinner companions loved the crab cakes but thought the fried chicken with the Chicken and Waffles lacked flavor.

We opted out of dessert at Insignia and walked to Zocca at the Westin for drinks and dessert instead. Awesome cheesecake, slow service.

Mcallister's Deli at 251/410 for lunch. 1st time ever visiting there so we seemed a little overwhelmed at 1st, but we got through that and split a Reuben and a New Yorker(corned beef and pastrami) with 2 soups between 4 of us and the food was good. Now my question is, can someone tell me the difference, good or bad, between this place and Jason's deli? I have heard/read lots of great things about Jason's.... I felt Mcallisters was good, not great! P.S. everytime I asked the cashier a question he pointed at a board on the wall, kinda like he was bothered by my questions.........

Zio's on IH 10 in between De Zavala and UTSA Blvd

I'm not a hog over Italian food, but this was pretty good.

So is there no difference between Jason's and Mcallister's. I guess no response must mean that.
