PANCHITOS is much better than TACO TACO imo

Dropped into SORRENTOS tonite for some pasta with clams, always good. It's new or I forgot, but there is a back entrance/foyer which is a great way to avoid the busy Broadway street front parking.

Have been there a few times, and the sandwiches are really good. Went there a few weeks ago.

Taco Taco is overrated, nothing to write home about. I want to know how they "won" their award.

Lien Hung- Very good Vietnamese. pork meatballs app, Frog legs w/ lemongrass, hot & sour catfish soup, and a chicken dish I can't recall were all good to very good. Frog legs & the soup were easily tops though. Unfortunately 1 of the 2 bottles we brought was corked, but the loan 94 spatlese delivered.

I will be back sooner than later to try their Pho.

Auden's Kitchen tonight. Good wine, good salad(wedgie salad). Had the fried chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans. Green beans had a little more "snap" than I generally like, chicken meat was good, but the crust was almost burned. Mashed potatoes were good. Not much flavor to the chicken or the gravy...

Dropped by the Lion & Rose @ Stone Oak this evening. I had an ice cold Stella Artois (on tap!) to wash down their Jameson Grilled Salmon. Requested it rare, but with a little charring. It came back exactly as ordered, and the Jameson whiskey glaze was just excellent.

However, in addition to their excellent green beans, I had ordered mashed potatoes and cabbage. At the time I couldn't remember that it was called, "Bubble & Squeek". My waitress misunderstood and delivered me separate orders of cabbage and mashed potatoes. When she realized she had made a mistake, she apologized and quickly returned with my order.

I had forgotten about the mistake, but my waitress realized that I had been charged for an additional side. She approached the manager to have the extra side removed from my ticket, and he comped my entire entree!

This was neither necessary, or desired, but greatly appreciated. I wanted to stop by here because such considerate attention to the customer is rare these days and certainly deserves notice.

I will be returning, and highly recommend this location.

Nana in Dallas.

10 course vegetarian tasting menu for me. Each dish was creative and I experienced fresh tastes that were new to me and a few favorites that were cooked to perfection. The serving ware was also different and quite unique for each course. Foam was quite popular for the tasting menu and our desserts...cauliflower foam, peanut butter foam etc.

Gnocchi to start and a 45 day-aged steak for Hubby. We had a funny..."I think those are snails" moment, an accompaniment to the gnocchi.

Bottle of red Zinfandel, a few scotches, ports and 3 desserts later...we took the shuttle back to our hotel.

Most memorable dining experience ever.

Head up 35 for about 5 hours - the drive is worth it.
