We went to Chris Madrids yesterday - it was actually pretty good this time around but still not Bobby J level IMO. The burger had an overall nice flavor but in some spots it was heavily peppered. I noticed the meat was not as greasy or gritty as it has been before in my past experiences. My kids enjoyed the yummo grilled cheese but all of us agreed the fries were weak and flavorless. My husband ranks CM as his number two burger.

Speaking of horrifying children, there were SEVERAL there and yes I know CMs is a burger joint but these kids were so out of control that even my own horrifying children were horrified. Maybe these parents dont have shame or embarassment but anytime either of my kids has even looked at me sideways in a public place we are outta there and they better be asking for Jesus before we get home. I do not like to be embarassed by my own children acting like fools in public I do not care where we are at unless its a playground you have no business acting out of your mind.

Audens Kitchen for lunch. The vegetable wrap is awesome as rembered and this time I opted for the apple and date quinoa instead of a side salad, very flavorful!

Given the horrors of yesterday, nobody wanted to cook much keep their eyes open long.

Lion & Rose - Alamo Heights for dinner takeout

Chicken Curry was solid as usual (I up it with extra curry at home). Grilled cheese w/ tomato & bacon disappeared quickly. Sheppard's pie also disappeared quickly. Cream of chicken & mushroom soup was satisfying.

Its not gourmet, but they continue to do a solid job with pub grub and are reasonably priced.

We will be returning soon, probably to try their breakfast menu.
Met a friend at Amorcito's for lunch this past Tuesday. No waiting, pleasant atmosphere and an attentive waiter. Enjoyed everything there from the chips (their salsa was muy bueno), the puffy tacos and the sopapilla the waiter brought each of us "on the house." I'm definitely looking forward to a return visit!

They are still in the old pizza hut building since the main restaurant had a fire, right?

I love that place, the food is real good.

Sushi Sake in Austin, 183 and Capitol of TX hwy. One of our favorites there. Good food. Also, bought foodstuffs at the Whole Food HQ on Lamar and 6th. Again, making me weep over the pitiful excuse of Whole Foods that we have. Waaaah!
