I've eaten at BBQ station many times, much better than Rudy's and most other BBQ joints, imo

Staff luncheon at Chili's near DeZavala. Their menu is new and their prices went up. I like the food. Not much new to report on Chili's. Typical Friday lunch rush, fairly decent service.

Since it was such a pretty day we decided to go to the Botanical Gardens and have brunch at the Carriage House Bistro. We got a great table outside near the flowers, which was good with a busy 3 year old who wanted to dig in the dirt rather than sit at the table. My husband had Erin's Loaded French Toast, which was made from jalapeno/cheddar bread covered in sausage, mushrooms, peppers and two fried eggs. It came with breakfast potatoes and fruit. I went with the special, which was crepes stuffed with asaparagus, prosciutto and brie. MMM..... It also came with the potatoes and fruit. It was a really delicious breakfast in a gorgeous setting. It was our first time to go for brunch, and we'll definitely go back.

Ended up eating at Las Feuntes in LaGrange, it was great, the Margarita's are very nice and the food was delicious..
Another outstanding San Antonio day trip location..

Went to Smashburger on Potranco & 151 yesterday. The burger was delicious, but they have NOTHING on Five Guys Fries! Overall, I like Five Guys better...but I won't ever turn down a Smashburger!

Houlihan's in Live Oak (across from the Forum) tonight. Shared mushroom and arugala flatbread - okay, but too much vinaigrette (which did not have any suggestion of truffle flavor even though it was billed as a truffle vinaigrette)... Husband had hamburger which he thought was good (I did not try since it had onions on it and I don't eat onions), and I had chicken sandwich which was ehh. Dessert was Snickers ice cream something for him which he also enjoyed - it was one of the $2.95 desserts so there wasn't really enough to share. I had the s'mores fondue which was yummy but too much for me to eat by myself - more of a 2 person dessert. Would go back but choose something different for the entree (had a stuffed chicken breast the last time we went there which was a couple of months ago and that was better) or would split some of the small plates options between 2 of us.

Barbaresco on San Pedro. Absolutely terrible service and really spotty food. My veal chop was way overcooked, didn't taste anything remotely akin to veal and the whole place just sorta reeked of 'bleh.'

My first and last visit. Live and learn
