Kirby's- great filets cooked correctly. Sides-mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. Creme brulee for desert with raspberries.

Incredible service, just a great evening.

Were all restaurants dead yesterday (The 4th of July)? We went to Olive Garden at AR (yeah, yeah, chain restaurant blah blah blah) and the parking lot was so empty I was thinking they were closed for the holdiday. The entire shopping center was like that too, but most places were open. Is this some secret I've never noticed until now? or was it just because people fled the city to get their things that go bang fix?
Only bad part was somehow we still had to wait a few minutes to get seated and the waiter must've had some other guests in another restaurant because he was sloooooooooow. There were only three tables in the entire room with people at them, but it took about 30 minutes to get our order in and get the salad and breadsticks.

Can't agree more. Really miss the old location, IMO it made the food taste better.

La Gloria--for the second time! I enjoy the atmosphere, their low prices, and their aguas frescas. They have great live music.

^ I love Beto's! I have celiac disease (as do two of my daughters) so eating out can be tricky, but Beto's is great at accomodating our big ole gluten free family. I miss the empanadas though.

Had lunch at Ocho- ordered the Ocho chopped salad w/ lump crab and split the Frutas plate with my DH. It was a perfect light lunch, great service, and amazing atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Augie's BBQ in Brackenridge Park this last weekend. Do they BBQ their brisket on a smoker or oven? Looked like it came from an oven. Ugly piece of meat. I asked the guy to cut mine from the "short end", "little end" and he proceeds to cut it from the big fatty end. Doh! I stopped him and he looked at me like, "what is it you want again?"...jeez, it's not that hard. Anyways, the meat was flavorless, the beans were flavorless, the corn was flavorless. The bread and beer were good tho. Never again.......

That stinks. I haven't been in a while.....it used to be really good. Try Bolner's! Don't judge it based on how it looks in the case, though.....just order something and eat it. Get some creamed corn to go with it.

Had furrs the other day, and I must say it was very good! Better than gc and a few bucks cheaper! Looks caotic with the crowd but not bad at all! I was expecting to battle for my food but that was not the case. Plus they kept the buffet stations very clean and food was fresh!
