Tried Senor Camaron on Huebner in the old La Vaca Naca location (I've been told vaca naca is slightly offensive, but never found a translation).

Anyway, apparently I have a different idea of what constitutes Vera Cruz sauce than the chefs in San Antonio, but it was still pretty good. Rice great. French fries were straight from the freezer. The ceviche patron was excellent. Slightly expensive given the surroundings, but about $39 out the door for the ceviche, fish, two iced teas, basket of chips and a tip.

Went to The Cove last night. I'm going back to a plant based diet so I had the vegan bacon cheeseburger. I was a little scared to try it but I was starving and it sounded filling. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! The sweet potato fries I ordered weren't as warm and crisp as I would've liked. The husband got the lamb burger and liked it. The boy and girl got hamburgers and enjoyed them.

You can not go wrong with the Cove. The wife and I love it and have enjoyed it for many years!

Picante Grill - food was OK. Hostess was less than pleasant. Not a nice meet and greet.

Maar's Pizza. Had a simple pep with extra cheese. SOOO Good. Cheese tasted great and had a good texture and the sauce was great as well. Went during lunch time and of course, it was packed but my bro and I didn't have anything pressing to do so we went down to the Forum and then just came back later that day around 200. Still a nice little crowd but manageable. Decor was very "spacey" with aliens all over. Childish but fun. I didn't take it very seriously. But I wasn't there for 4 star dining. Some good pizza and beer? That's the spot.
