Taco Paraiso at 1604 and Bitters. New place specializing in real Mexican food. Their tacos are really good and the pozolillo was outstanding. The owners are really nice from Mexico and I really hope they make it. I'll definitely go back.

Rio Cantina on the Riverwalk. Slightly better than El Original and it was pretty cheap.

Malibu Shack today. Used a LivingSocial Deal, food was very good. The Fried Pickle Spears were ridiculously good.

I ate at Ray's Pizzaria on Blanco & Lockhill-Selma for the first time in my life. Got the pepperoni slice & a feta slice with garlic parmesan and medium buffalo wings. SO....FREAKING.....GOOD. It was delicious! Tasted just like NY pizza....I was immediately transported to this skeevy little hole-in-the-wall (literally!) on 71st Avenue in Forest Hills where I whiled away many an evening gobbling carbs. Absolutely delicious pizza & Ray's today definitely brought me back.

The buffalo wings were perfectly spiced. Perhaps just a tad too much fat, but just barely noticeable....they were delicious. And the buffalo sauce that was left over was the perfect dip for the pizza crust! Ahhhhhhh, heaven.

I really needed that. It was a tossup between Ray's & Ilsong Garden for some bulgogi while I waited for my car work to be done. Glad I picked Ray's. My taste buds are still tingling.

Ambience: 9/10
Food: 9/10
Sentimentality: Infinity/10

Ostra- very nice setting on the river walk. Food is expensive, competently prepared, but dreadfully under-seasoned. I expect much more at this price point. DW despised their blue glasses and unappealing menu layout. All things considered, I will spend my top seafood $ at Sand Bar. SB is better in every respect but for location.

MK Davis- stopped in for some nachos and a cold beer and they didn't disappoint. Prices & preparations are locked in the 1980's and there is nothing wrong with that. A nice contrast to Ostra for a Saturday out with DW.

Restaurant Gwendolyn- The have a stall @ the Quarry farmers' market that is worth visiting. On Sunday, we enjoyed a wonderful serving of chicken & cauliflower soup with a side of their butter bread. Delicious.

I didn't catch the name, but there is another outfit at the market making awesome pork buns and other asian street foods. I'm looking forward to exploring their menu.
