Paka, I'd been there before. Didn't know they'd been featured but they certainly deserve the attention. Go and enjoy!

I met Michigan friends in town visiting their Texas friends at the Josephine Street Cafe last night. Not my "cup of tea" so I would not recommend it.

Went to Laguna Madre on Rigsby/410. Everything was bland. But in fairness got their before closing. My experience is that when a place is near closing. Don't expect the food to great. What got me upset is that they got rid of the lemons. Couldn't cut one up for the fish.

Soda Pop's Patio Bar and Grill. Had been wanting to check this place out, and just had not ever gotten around to it. Good burgers, and an enjoyable way to spend a sunny afternoon lunch. Friendly service, and genuine interest in your dining experience from the staff.

La Fonda on Main. The Filete Rellano special is SO good. So tender and smokey. The kids had enchiladas rojas which are also great. The red sauce is good enough to eat by itself. Very fresh and not overdone or heavy at all. They are super celiac-friendly as well.

Went to Feast this past Saturday. Place was jam packed and LOUD. Everyone is very hip, felt like I was being sized up constantly. However, food was excellent...they screwed up our order, but the manager gave us a comp on the final bill. I'll go back...but earlier in the evening, with reservations and better dressed.

The Monterey. Fantastic date night.

Edited to add: apparently I was a little too careless and glutened myself. The food was excellent, but I really need to be more careful. I hate celiac disease. My head is pounding, it feels like I ate glass, and the bones in my limbs are aching something fierce. Still feel like it was worth it, but ask me again in a few hours.
