My CD dining companion and I had breakfast at Mimi's Cafe this morning. I have been wanting a Mimosa, and Mimi's has them. We enjoyed not only our Mimosa's but the coffee, fruit crepes, crisp bacon, and Eggs Benedict as well. We both recommend Mimi's Cafe. Next time, lunch or dinner!

We love the bread basket they bring at dinner. I didn't even know they were open for breakfast. Thanks for sharing that but my thighs don't appreciate it. I like their food, what we've had anyway.

Ate at Kimura tonight and everything was very good. They were out of two ramen dishes, but we sampled the miso ramen (my favorite), sliced beef and rice dish (forgot the name), dumplings, and yakitori (chicken and octopus). We sat at the bar in front of the kitchen and had excellent service. The drink menu is overpriced though, $10-$12 cocktails and my Asahi Black was $9. The short sake menu is more reasonably priced though. They stay open to midnight which is fantastic!!! Will definitely be back, especially when the weather cools off.

I went to check out Barbaro, the new pizzeria/bar in Monte Vista from the folks that brought you the Monterey. Cool place with good food. There are a selection of very interesting pizzas ($9 individual, $15 larger to share) and inventive salads. The full bar adds something too as you can get a cocktail, craft beer, or glass of wine.

Decent crowd on a Tuesday night, but not overwhelming and you could walk right in to get a table.

This is the kind of cozy neighborhood place that if I could walk to, I would probably be there a few nights a week.
