Pedro's Mexican Restaurant on Naco Perrin. I went through the drive thru and it was slooooooooow. I got an empanada plate and they were nothing to write home about and too greasy.

Koi Kawa - used to be a favorite but needs a tune up. Tables are rickety. Waitress was shrill and annoying in manner. Tempura was blah. Went from an A to a B (at best).

Seeing this post put Chama on my mind, and enjoyed it Friday night. Excellent as always!

Also, this past week enjoyed Arcade Midtown Kitchen at lunch, which was top notch.

Whataburger...Green Chile Double Cheeseburger...a heart stopping blend of cheese, beef and green chiles! I did find out that they offer it in a Jr version...I think I'll go for that next time.

Thai Hut. It wasn't as good as it used to be. It wasn't horrible but I remember it tasting better. I had the drunken noodles with chicken.

Thai Thai Asian Cuisine located on Walzem Rd. across from Roosevelt High School. I tried to eat there this past Monday. It was busy, nearly waited twenty minutes before I was served my beverage. What really ticked me off was that the food server took another patron's order as soon as he walked in. I walked out and went to Thai House on Rittiman Rd. instead. Had the Thai Noodle Soup with chicken. Good food and service as usual.

Luxury- for lunch. Finally cool enough for lunch outside. Had fried chicken sandwich with creamy coleslaw, really good and of course, french fries. Worth the trip and wait for fall.

Nao at the Pearl, much better than last visit! We were truly surprised at how busy they (and the nearby Boiler House and Arcade) were on a mid-week evening. Guessing a few were tourists, makes me wonder if all those housing units in the area are starting to get occupied.

do you not understand how popular living in and around pearl has gotten? It's ridiculous!

96% occupancy within pearl proper
90%+ occupancy in the two new rental developments along the Broadway corridor

The demand is there, that's clear. Mosaic will fully open soon. Also, a new development is popping up behind the 1221 along the river. That's not even counting all of the plans for Gov't Hill and Broadway going into the Downtown area. Exciting stuff happening.

I think there are a lot of locals that go to the Pearl on any night for the river, meet ups, dinner (I saw a whole group of people with dogs the other night just hanging out). If this was last night it felt very crowded in comparison to the week before. I've been at the Pearl two Wednesdays in a row for various things.
