I had to go to Cheddars, which is in that area, since I have never seen it empty every time I drive by it. I waited for half an hour to be seated, but the food was pretty good. My family liked it too. I would go back. The prices were reasonable too and the service was fast once we were seated.

54th on Culebra/1604. I was meeting a friend there so not my choosing. GOOD LORD it was awful, but that is what I expected. Only good thing was cheap Bud Light. And I think the ac was busted cause it was hot as balls in there. Avoid at all costs.

Hot Joy in Southtown. The cocktails were delicious, but our dishes were wayyy too salty. They were also very heavy. We had the Hot Fried Chicken (very heavy), fried rice with sausage (very salty) and the Pork Belly tacos (tasty, but my stomach was getting upset from the rice and the chicken).

I guess it was just the combination of the food didn't agree with me. I might give it another chance. Gotta have cocktails there again! LOL

Choke Canyon Bar-B-Q on Blanco. The very young staff was pleasant enough and recorded my order correctly, but only gave me 3 of the 4 kinds of meat in my Family Pack! (Since I'd used the drive-thru window, there was no opportunity for them to correct this. )

Food was mostly OK. Sauce was very good. Most of the side dishes were underflavored.

Smokey Mo's BBQ on Bulverde. The good news is that they now carry creamed corn (although they were sold out). The even better news is that they will open the Stone Oak Parkway location in about a month.

Trip to Fredericksburg with a couple evening dinners at Navajo Grill (very good, but get cocktails elsewhere) and The Nest (absolutely amazing!! -same chef and owners for 18 years).
