A bit pricey for the size, IMO, but their BBQ is tasty!
They are staying put, the vfw will be their venue for music and large parties

India Oven- They redeemed themselves with a lamb vindaloo that was truly "Indian hot 10" as requested this time. I also noted more lamb than their typical serving. I hope this continues.

As usual, I ordered enough food for a couple of meals. Vegetable samosas, chicken sagwala, chicken tikka kabab, and navratan korma were all excellent. Aloo pratha was just serviceable. Overall, an excellent experience from my favorite Indias restaurant in town.

Bliss- Very nice dinner. They play it safe, but everything was great. Corkage is a real plus, but they need to teach their servers how to decant properly.

Las Canarias- Excellent Saturday lunch. A fantastic place to watch the world go by on the river walk. I enjoyed a brown shrimp omelet and the wife had a fantastic salmon reuben. I will be back on a Saturday for sure. Wine list is decent, but I think margaritas are called for there.

La Fogata. That place used to be the bomb, but seems to be declining. Maybe it is just turning into another Mi Terra type of tourist spot.

I waited for more than 30 mins for my food to come out (another table that came after us was served before us), drinks were not refilled until I flagged down another waiter, and they got my order wrong.

Smokin' Joes Bar B Q at 114 N Weidner Rd. If you like bar-b-q and haven't been there, well you just haven't had good bar-b-q yet. Prices are reasonable, food served is fabulous, and they pile on the meat on a plate. Thursdays they have stuffed baked potatoes. One of them is a meal for a big guy. The potatoes will cover a dinner plate- they're huge....and in demand so get there early if you want one. It's a small place and they do a huge business but most of it is carry out. The entrance from the street is about as wide as a driveway but then opens to the back for parking. It's pretty easy to miss sandwiched between a mexican food place and a car lot. Well worth the drive if yer a bar-b-q lover. I'm not a BBQ lover and I'll be back.

Father's Day early with one child-Hot Joy.

Have been wanting to go and it did NOT disappoint.

Spring rolls, pork bellies, lamb, fried rice, appetizer chicken. All were amazing and worth the trip. The decor took me back to Hong Kong in the '70s.

A definite repeat.

Milano's on Stone Oak:

1. Food was very good.
2. Service needs a touch of training. Waitress was a touch pesty. We had to hold on to our salads for dear life as they came late and then the food came.
3. Coffee machine was either being put away or belly up. It was not closing time when we got there so why put it away?

With some fixes - good food at the price.

As a general aside for many places - why are restaurants always making a new pot. What happens is that that the staff forgets it or the waiter forgets to bring it and you get a story.

Also, if the joint closes at 10:00 PM - stop vacuuming and spraying the joint with Lysol around your customers at 9:30. Can you wait till you are closed?

Hu-Hot on Friday night. The food was good but service was extremely lame. Five waiters bunched up in a corner having a deep conversation while table after table had empty cups. It was really not that busy and it was so hot in there. They should work on that.

If we had a Hu-Hot in Dallas, that'd be great.

Dough- It was GREAT! Fresh everything. Produce, cheese, crust, good wine. Only drawback is parking. Gets a bit crazy on the weekends. Also, right next door is a cool barbershop. I got a straight edge razor shave there. Very smooth. Get there early.
