Not really. They just put $1.2 million into the club, total redo and it's beautiful and modern. The old article you mentioned talks about looking to attract younger members, which I am one.

Have you been or are you currently a member? Based on your snarky response, I'd say no.

Go back and look at the membership levels, I'd say say you're marginalized. Snarky?? No. Truthful?? Yes. Member?? No, I don't feel a need to be. Get over yourself.

Smoke Shack on Broadway, awesomely good BBQ for SA. Everyone's bound to have their opinion on "the best" but for my taste, they're in the top tier-AND good $ value to boot! Nice to see them make the food truck>brick&mortar restaurant transition without a fall in quality. Nice re-do of that location (can't recall name of prior tenant) as well, counter service but nice interior and friendly help.

Thai Chili, their new location on Thousand Oaks. The Thai Noodle soup was excellent as usual.

Craved some Chinese food for dinner tonite, so stopped by China Wall at the corner of 1604 and Culebra.

It has been there for several years now and have never tried it....and don't intend to try it again. When MY husband says "Hon, you don't bother putting away those leftovers".....

Oh well, live and learn

Went to El Bucanero tonight for the first time. I thought it was good. I don't know if I would rave about it and take anyone there, but it was a nice meal. I have shrimp tacos.

El Jarro de Arturo for dinner last night. Man, that place is always packed. Great as usual! We had the carnitas for 2 and it fed 4 of us with ease and we still took some home. Get the Arturo's margarita, but never have more than 2. They're potent. If you dig REALLY spicy salsa, ask for the Pancho Villa sauce. They don't advertise it.
