Captain Bens at Potranco and 151 is gone. It never was anything like the one across from Brooks AFB. The Potranco location never had anybody that seemed like they had a clue on the menu, what was supposed to be served, keeping the place clean, just lack of management. Too bad.

Coincidentally, i think that's exactly why the Stone Oak location closed a month ago...

Snow's Restaurant on Broadway, Vietnamese cuisine. Had the vermicelli with pork, green and white onions. Tasted pretty good. The tea was a little too sweet, but a good impression overall.

Well crud...sitting here at Finleys on DeZavala, and they have signs on the door saying "closed for remodeling". Figures.

Hmmmm...a groupon, then "closed for remodeling" doesn't sound good. I hope I'm wrong if they're as good as some people say.

Considering there was nothing wrong with the present interior of Finley's, it seems like it will be a major overhaul with a new name. I will miss the original Finley's when it had the original owner, but there still is B&B Smokehouse close to my job.

They were still using the old table and chairs from when Mr. Cod used to occupy the space.

I can't say I miss Mr. Cod either, but it was amusing eating at a popular British chain's only US location right here in San Antonio.

That location was also a Charley's before it was Mr. Cod. I'm not sure if it being 3 (now possibly 4) different restaurants in a good thing. Maybe the location is a bit off? Even though McAlisters was doing so well it opened its own free standing location behind its old location.

I forgot about Charley's and I never ate there when it was Charley's.

You are right, the location seems to be not so great for the past businesses that occupied the space.

Panera Bread tuna salad - others are better - Jasons, Whole Foods, La Madeleine for instance.
