Next time at Arirang, order a bowl of Jjampong. They used to not offer it, but is now available
off-menu. It's a spicy seafood stew.

But yes, sometimes I get a baby octopus atop with two shrimp, sometimes no octopus and one shrimp.
Service is usually sketchy, but they don't seem to take offense at me standing up to flag them down.

The Seoul Oriental Food Market for quick and cheap Korean.

Seoul is the next place on my list. Their seafood pancake looks legit.

Flemings- Not a great night. Granted I was at a party, but my ribeye was tough and flavorless and the salad was warm from sitting out too long before serving.

My other experiences here were positive; perhaps, a night of too many demands.

The Esquire Tavern. Overpriced but very yummy burger.

I didn't order drinks so I can't speak for the bartender, but our waitress was fine and the level of service she provided was great.

Several Places:

Kung Fu Noodles on Bandera: Nice little place, not fancy but good noodle soups and not expensive.
Oolongs on Bandera: Good standard American-Chinese standards
Sushihana - always good, not cheap but not terribly expensive. Had seafood soba - very tasty and filling
Sushishima - seafood soba also - was pretty good.
Menger Hotel - standard bland hotel food - edible but not a destination restaurant, go for the Teddy ambiance and bar

Culvers - snack pack burger - inexpensive and miles better than a McD meal - still a burger though.

Torchy's Tacos. Decided to try this place after seeing it mentioned in the openings and closings thread. It was good, but didn't meet my expectations of "damn good". Place certainly has that faux hipster vibe to it that you see in Austin.

The Longhorn Cafe on Blanco rd. Forty one dollars for four hamburgers that were raw. Dirty place, flies all over the lemons next to the tea and soda station. Disgusting, would not recommend. Not sure what happened to this place.

Ruth's Chris at the Riverwalk: Great steak, terrible service. Waitress had no personality from the start, and went downhill from there.

Just my wife and I, no big party. Food was delivered by another waiter, and we never saw our waitress until the end. No water refills, additional drink offers, no "how is your meal", nothing.

I expect better service at Denny's, much less a restaurant where I'm paying $47 a steak.
