Apartments in NW side, close commute to Westover Hills
Hi all.
I am currently living on Marbach (big mistake), having moved here for work without visiting first.
My lease is up in December, and, I am looking at moving to a bigger apartment in a nicer area, as my GF is moving down soon as well. Currently, for a small one bedroom, I am paying 560, which, I know is very cheap.
Any suggestions, or places to avoid?
I work in the Westover Hills area, and the one great thing about my apartment is that it takes about 10 minutes to get to work, so, anything within another 10 minutes of that would be great.
Any help someone could give me would be great! Thanks!

Aren't there some mondo-huge apartment buildings going up on 1604 just south of Culebra/151 area? Not sure, but they'll likely be renting by Nov/Dec. I think they are actually called Westover Hills Apts or something like that.

There's a couple off Potranco/Military area, The Lodge next to the Hyatt, Laurel Canyon (Culebra/1604 by Walmart), and some new apartments in Alamo Ranch.
They're popping up everywhere. I'd try and take a Saturday (or another day) and just drive the roads around 151, Military, Potranco, Culebra, Westover Hills, and grab all the info you can. I'm guessing they'll all be a couple hundred more a month.

I am unfamiliar with apartments on this side of town, but I would register on moveforfree.com....you can find out tons of info on apts., they'll move your stuff for free, and they will hook you up with the same specials you would get by using a regular locator. You just have to make sure you tell the leasing agent "who sent ya". I used them twice to move--and I only had to pay $25 or something silly like that to have them move my washer and dryer. All other furniture and boxes was included for free.

IonRedline08 -You will find many nice apartments in the Westover Hills area. There are several along Hwy 151 near Military and Westover Hills Blvd. There are nice ones on Dugas Road which runs between Military and Potranco. A new one will be opening /leasing soon (if not already) at the corner of 1604 and Wiseman. This one has graffitti along a retaining wall. I'm sure it will be removed. Actually it will have to be if they want to attract residents.
