Default Lasar Hair Removal...

Does anyone have recommendations of where to go; or if it even really works?

I went to Smooth Solutions...oh...maybe 9 years ago or so...to have my underarms and bikini line done. It is a series of treatments, lasting about a year, and you go once every 2-3 months. Since hair follicles go dormant periodically you have to spread out the times you do it. They don't necessarily guarantee that you will never have regrowth, but if you do, it should be finer and less dense. I think I spent about $600 for both, but you can spread out your payments as you go along in treatments. Bikini line looks good, though I do still have to shave my underarms. The hair is more fine now. The underarms are especially hard because there are tons of tiny hair follicles there and it is pretty dense; the more hair follicles, the more it stings. It actually hurt a little more than the bikini area to be lasered. Overall, I wouldn't say it is painless, but it is not bad--and I am a total wimp about pain. I don't regret doing it at all and would do it again.

I also went to Smooth Solutions. I went in because I felt I had heavier facial hair than I should have, plus I would always break out in zits w/ this humidity. So I thought, if I can get rid of the hair, maybe the hair follicle won't get irritated and break out. Their pricing system was pretty fair; if you pay up front (and you will) for a series of treatments, and for some reason you don't want to continue and want your money back, they will send you your money back.

There are a few drawbacks to the whole laser hair removal thing though. The main one is that you can't pluck your hairs out before you want to start your sessions, during, etc. because that's what the laser hair removal does, is blast out your whole hair follicle. You can only shave it, which may or may not look okay to you. I broke out even worse after 3 whole face "blasts", so I decided that was counterproductive and ended my treatments. More than a year later, I have many ingrown hairs under my nose, which I am trying to get out of my skin. They are not horrible, but I can see them w/ my 10x mirror. They also run monthly deals, and while I was doing my face, they had one for forearm hair removal. I had always been self-conscious about that, so I went for it, I think it was 3 times. It may have made the growth lighter, but I started to use an epilator and that works fine. I have medium-tan skin, so one wouldn't look at my forearms and wonder why I have no hair there, you just wouldn't notice if there is hair or not. And that's the way I like it! Anyway, hope this ramble helps somewhat.
