Our son as requested a care package....and one of the things he is wanting are the large tamarindo pops and the mexican candies he enjoys so much.

Can anyone tell me where to buy these (other than a gas station)...where I can buy in bulk and probably more fresh than the local Lone Star gas station???

Any and all help most appreciated! Trying to get his package off by Monday.

Paka...I wish I could help, but I'm not sure what they even are. Do they sell this kind of thing at any of the shops in El Mercado? Or even Mi Tierra's? I know they have all those baked goodies there, but do they sell candies as well? I can't remember what was there when we were there last.

I've never heard of that candy but I found this website that may have what you are looking for though you obviously wouldn't have the candy by Monday.
Pelucas Tamarindo Candy - 10ct
Also, I don't know how much you are sending over but when my hubby was over there I used to get the flat rate priority boxes & cram all I could in them. It's a decent deal if you send things that weigh a bit.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions...I think I found something close by that sounds like a wholesaler...thanks again and especially to Deep Forest who found this place...and practically in our own back yard!

I agree SA08...flat rate boxes ARE the best for those of us in the "care package" business!
