Did anybody see today's sunset?
It was amazing and I apologize for not taking pictures.
The sun looked like a red peach, I went in a store for a while and when I came out a few minutes later the clouds were covering the sun but for some reason, I swear that everything looked orange.

I had never seen that before anywhere.

Bummer, I am sorry I missed it. It would have been the perfect ending to an otherwise completely crappy day. I came in about an hour before sunset.

When everything looked orange, I kept on thinking that I hope there's a lot of photographers outside taking advantage of that moment, because it would have been some amazing pictures.

FYI, I only use my camera to record road rage

The sunset effect could have possibly been from all the storm weather north and northeast of San Antonio earlier this evening.

We had quite a bit of haze today... a lot in part due to the strong capping inversion on top of us. That is, in general, the higher you go in the atmosphere, the cooler the temperature gets. However, when there is a cap in place, the air heats up at a certain height before cooling down again which limits how much the air parcels can rise. That traps much of the pollutants that are emitted at the surface much like what we see during an overcast day down in the lower levels of the atmosphere.

Due to the haze that resulted from the high humidity and pollution combo, the suns rays were refracted and scattered in a way that is very picturesque. I was outside earlier watching the sunset earlier today and could see the rays of light extend way overhead... it's kinda like the same effect smoke machines have with spotlights.
