I will be relocating to SA very soon and am wondering if there are any good whitetail deer hunting areas closeby? Also, what types of bird hunting if any, do sportsman have any luck with?

I don't know about the deer, or shooting the bird but, our drivers sure do love to "flip" the bird!!!!

Texas doesn't have much public land, so finding a good hunting spot can be difficult. Hunting leases or making friends with a rancher seem to be the way to go.
Here's a Texas Gun forum that might be better help:
Hunting, Fishing, and Survival - Texas Gun Talk
Edit: Here's a page off the Texas Parks and Wildlife that has a list of private leases and other hunting locations.

Why run? He'll only die tired!
And I just realized that Bambi was a male; although his name is usually used to describe dipsy females...

There is a lot of hunting opportunities around here. Look around and do your homework though as there are some ranches that can be very expensive. Do you have a DoD ID card?
