There are many Arabic students at the Defense Language Institute English Language Center on Lackland Air Force Base here in San Antonio. I don't know any personally, but I see them on base all the time.
As for Arabic tourists here, I am sure there are many as San Antonio draws many visitors from all over the world.
However, I am not quite sure what you mean when you ask "how do you look for them?" Are you looking for other Arabs in the area to meet up with? Or are you looking for the opinions of Arabs who live in the area?
Cheers! M2

I would say you're off to a good start. I unfortunately cannot help you much, though. I know there are a lot of people from the Middle East attending DLI English on Lackland, but that is restricted entry there. I also know of a great Middle Eastern grocery store off Wurzbach just south of 10 called Ali Baba International Food Market ( ali baba san antonio - Google Maps). They have a little of everything there, but the majority was Middle Eastern. The fresh pita bread was my favorite

I dont know much about the Middle east culture here in San Antonio, for I am of European background.
There are many hookah bars here, and whenever I go, there are many people from the Middle east there.
I dont know about searching for other people from a particular region, though. Seems kind of weird that you'd want to find people like that immediately after moving from a country that wasnt as mixed as ours.
Maybe try to meet other people outside your race as well : )

I don't mind them as long as they try to dress appropriately. I find it degrading to see certain women wearing burkas and other head covering garb in this oppressive heat.

^^ And I am sure they find it degrading that some American women wear short shorts and show their shoulders.
To each their own.

Just depends on the person in San Antonio. You'll run in to people that find all Arabs fit in one bad category, and then you'll find people who don't find them any different then any other person.
I myself come across a lot of people of Middle Eastern decent just because of my proximity to USAA. I don't think any different of them.
And in regard to the way women dress...umm seriously? I've actually heard it's pretty comfy wearing those dresses and coverings. It's a lot more breathable then jeans and a dark t-shirt. However, if I see a woman completely dressed like that I'll give them a quick glance just because it catches me off guard and then continue on my way. It doesn't bother me at all. Why would it bother you?

I'm the wrong person to ask since a lot of people tell me that I look "North-African" and I've had many friends in college from over there.
I haven't seen any in San Antonio, but I've seen several families in Landa Park in New Braunfels (town known for being very german).
They were speaking their language (I'm aware that arabic is not the only one) and wearing their traditional clothes.
What do I think?
I don't care where people are from as long as they are open minded.
