Hi:

I have been looking or an old friend who was married to one of the Butts daughters. Unfortunately, I recently found out that he passed away suddenly, maybe about five years ago. He would have been about 32 or so at the time. A friend told me about this but he was never able to find out the details either. I am so sad about this. Was there ever any information about this in the press? I have tried to locate his mom and cannot find her and was only able to get cursory info off an old obit.

I was thinking the reason someone might know about it would be because of his wife's maiden name, rather than his name, being as Butts is a prominent name in SA.

True, but you didn't even give a first name. And maybe the folks that have lived here for years or study the history of HEB or cruise the same circles could have figured it out. But for us commoners, that was kinda like saying "my brother's wife's uncle lives in San Antonio, do you know him?...

Not being snarky, just putting it into perspective. You say you saw an obit, so what else are you trying to find out? Just looking for someone that knew Robert, or someone that knows the wife or the mom? Or just trying to figure out how he died?

Thanks for the clarification on the name. Mainly trying to find out how he died...or why..at such a young age.

Yeah, I get it, it was like saying "My uncle's brother's friend, etc." LOL.

Try mysa.com and look up the obits. They also have archives where you can search under names. Cause of death is rarely mentioned in obituaries anymore.
Sometimes there's a clue when donations are requested to a certain organization in lieu of flowers. Unless this person was a city, civic or business leader in his own right, it's doubtful that a story would be written of his passing just for being married into a prominent family.

Was he a cop? Robert Davis was the name of the cop killed by a fellow cop while cleaning up after an accident . But this was only last year.
