I have inherited some property in south Bexar County and it is a mess with overgrown trees and brush as well as an old dilapidated mobile home on the property.

I haven't a clue on how to get that mobile home disposed of.

I really want to get this property cleaned up to use possibly for retirement, but this mobile home is the biggest headache.

Any ideas on where to start??

There's several demolition people that advertise on craigslist.com
I used one from there to get rid of my pool, deck and some other garbage last month. It's not exactly cheap, but cheaper than paying a company to come do it. I suppose you could also rent a Bobcat and do it yourself, but I can't imagine that's very easy

Have you tried running an ad that says something like "free mobile home--move it yourself" etc or whatever. People like free stuff and may be willing to move it for you if it's free.

Default still looking

Unfortunately the people who I've come across on craigslist (4 or 5) are not being very reliable. They don't answer emails or phone calls. The two who I did talk to said they could do it, and then I don't hear from them again.

This is very frustrating because I can't understand how this is so hard.

Any other ideas?

I would look in the phone book for one of the companies that does land clearing and brush cleanup. When you call them to talk about a quote ask them about the mobile home. If they can't do it, I'll bet they will be able to put you in touch with someone who can or at the very least tell you the type of business you need to contact. If you still have no luck then come back in here and post again and I'll ask the guy who built my house for some recommendations on who might do that sort of thing.

Thank you so much for your help. I am, however, negotiating with someone to get this work done.

I will certainly take these phone numbers down if things don't work out and for future projects that I already have lined up.

Thanks again.
