I have to agree. Had lunch at Brasserie Pavil yesterday. It's a beautiful restaurant, service was so-so, even though it was not very busy. I had braised short ribs, the special of the day, half of it was inedible fat. I always expect a short rib to be slow cooked, fall off the bone tender and this was not. The Duck Confit was very good although not at good as some other places around town.

What cracked me up is the cloth they use as napkins, other restaurants use for their cleaning and polishing towels. White cloth with the red stripes. Next time you're at a restaurant bar, look for them behind the bar. Guarantee you'll see them. Too funny!

Seafood: Wildfish
Steak: Kirby's
Mexican : La Hacienda or El Chappareal

Meson is hit or miss but has a very eclectic menu. When it's good it's REALLY good, enough so that I'll put up with the average times just to roll the dice again for the great times.

Silo, Aldino's also make the list of good ones.

I LOVE John the Greek also, even though it's a couple blocks down 281.

Several good ones, but I think Chama Gaucha stands out!

Well I have to say I really enjoyed Brasserie Pavil. We had a room for a meeting and the chef came in and spoke to us for quite some time. I really enjoyed the food, the service, and the meal. But for cost purposes this isn't somewhere we would go often!

I overlooked this part of your post when I made my first reply. There's a long thread discussing the Ohana Hawaiian Grill here.

Thanks!!!!

In response to the disappointed foodie on the previous post-Does anyone ever send the food back when they are not happy or do they just let it go. I would figure if you spend that kind of money on a entree you should be happy.
