We found a dog last night on our step. It's a benji-type small dog with a red collar and no tags. He took her for a walk last night but no one was out looking for her; he also took her out this morning with no luck. We live behind HEB+ on Potranco.

My husband just took her to a vet to see if she has a chip. If she doesn't, is there a no-kill shelter where we can take her? We can't keep her here. I took a pic to post on craigslist or on mailboxes, but I am not sure what else I can do.

edit: I didn't even notice there was another thread about a dog. I will look for advice there. If you know this dog, though, DM me.

Hey Michelle, from what I understand, it's very hard to get dogs you find into a shelter. Especially no kill. I would HATE to see you just have to let him go. Maybe if no one steps up, you can just put free dog in the paper? That might be better than just letting him roam free or taking him to one of those kill shelters.

These are all no-kill shelters. You can try giving them a call.
