OK...if this had not just come from my mom I would NEVER believe it....but everyone should check out this site:

Texas Unclaimed Property

for unclaimed money. Dad died in 1975, mom sold the house and has lived with us kids ever since. Somehow my sister heard about this site, ran a check on mom and there was her name, with the old homestead address. Long story short, some Life Ins something that could not been worth much at all just sent her a check from the state of Texas for $2513.91!!! Of course, this had sat around for 30 some years and what she ended up getting has a lot of interest off of it, but needless to say I have one VERY happy 82 yr old on my hands!

Good luck all, hope you find your little windfall here as well. If you are successful, please share your story with us to encourage others!

Default Me too!

About nine months ago I received a check for some $40, an insurance dividend that never got forwarded to my new address. It's always a good idea to look!

Thanks, Paka! The last time I looked a few years back, I got about $40 from City Water Board.....this time I am getting $134.17 from an old insurance policy that I don't even remember! I just filled out the claim form and have to mail it in....thanks! I found it under my maiden name, so ladies, don't forget to check that!

I sent this to a few coworkers several years ago and it turned out one guy was owed ~$150 from Time Warner! It's a great resource! Thanks for posting it; I had completely forgotten about it!

This reminds me of the time when I was a little kid and found some money in the street.
Some guy used to go by the house with a truck full of fruits and vegetables and sell them to the people in the neighborhood.
My mom bought some things and went back to the house.
I found about $10 (foreign currency), when I went back in I told my mom and she said that it was her money

That's the oldest trick in the books we Moms use on our kids. "Look Mom I found a dollar!" " Oye give it to me its mine I dropped yesterday." Never tell your Mom you found money cause its always hers. Lesson learned.
