Just posting to see if anyone has any ideas about good spots to celebrate the 4th.
I know the usual like Lackland, SeaWorld but am looking for some ideas that are outside the norm.
Thanks

We bought tickets to watch the fireworks at the Sunken Garden theater. The SA Symphony Orchestra will be playing and we really enjoy going to shows with a live orchestra.

I think the Symphony thing is going to be really cool and I'm so glad that they've started doing something like that in SA.

There's always the Woodlawn Lake celebration.

The missions usually play on the 4th and do a big fireworks show afterwards. The year we went we walked out to the parking lot and ended up being able to see the show at the ballpark, at Lackland, and at Sea World. It was really cool.

I'm going to Sunken Gardens also. It sounded so different and fun. I'm looking forward to the music and show. It's different than anything Sa has done before. Woodlawn is a good place for families and kids. Sunken Gardens will be adult. Maybe I can spend the afternoon at the lake and evening at the Garden.

Well, my 2 kids will be there! Kids under 12 can get in with a ticketed adult, so there may be others. But yes, mostly adult.

Me and the BF will be at Freetail Brewing Co. for live music all day (flyer says from 2pm - Midnight) and $2.33 pints (in honor of America's 233rd bday says the flyer). Doubt they are having fireworks, but I've been able to see Fiesta Texas's from the Freetail patio in the past.

And they are again this year, including a Robert Earl Keen concert. This is my favorite San Antonio way of spending the 4th of July. Baseball, REK and fireworks - what's not to love?
