Good Afternoon. There's a chance that my family and I will be relocating from Charlotte to San Antonio. My wife and I grew up in Dallas, but we have spent little time in SA, but have heard great things about the city.

I would welcome any feedback you all could give me in regard to where to live, either in city limits or outside of city limits. We have heard good things about Boerne (commute time?), Alamo Heights, and a few others neighborhoods. We have a rising 3rd grader and 1st grader so a good school district is veryimportant to us. We would be looking for homes in the $450k-$550k range. Also, if we chose to wait and buy later, are their reasonable rental homes in the areas with good schools?

I am in talks with USAA about coming to work for them. Based on what I know about the company and what they have told me it sounds like a great company to work for. Any input?

Since you know Dallas, Alamo Heights and the surrounding cities of Terrell Hills and Olmos Park are similar to the Park Cities, but much more affordable. The AHISD is also similar to HPISD in level of respect and education. Boerne is nice, it's like a upscale Mesquite, a little bit country, but close enough to the city.
USAA is probably one of the cities premier employers, I've heard nothing but good thing about the company.
