She obviously WAS someone's dog. It looks like she's been groomed recently (past month or so) because she's got layers of hair that are cut perfectly straight. She also has a good chunk of hair missing from her lower back and has got herself a little bit of a sunburn. And no collar.

She's been sitting on my doorstep all day and I just put her in my backyard for fear of her running in the street. I swear I have a sign on my house that only animals can read that says "sucker lives here".

She seems very sweet, but not knowing her history (or health) and the fact that I am at my personal limit for animals (3 cats, 1 dog) I cannot take her in.

If the owners aren't found, I will see if the Humane Society can take her, but if not, she's got to go to ACS. Sorry...I just don't have the time to find her a home nor the money to add another animal to my ark. And I think it's better than the alternative of a life on the street with crazy drivers and 100+ degree temps.

I'm heading to craigslist to scour the lost and found section.

Oh whatta pretty little girl!!

Good luck trying to find her parents. Be sure to take her to your vet to check if she is chipped.

Thanks for getting her into a backyard for the time being.

We share that "sucker" label - but they usually run along side my car, or directly in front of it...thats how I find em.

We are at 3 cats and 1 dog too, and the dog is 16 yrs old...

Anyway, best of luck and keep us updated.

Hope you can find the owners. That's such a pretty dog. How miserable it must be to be a lost animal in this kind of heat. I understand not being able to keep it. I am at my limit with three rescue dogs myself.

If he takes it require him to keep closer tabs on this one to include a collar with id and chipped if he can afford it. It'll save a whole lot of heartache.

Darn kids. Looks like Molly (that's what they named her) found herself a new home. Took her to the vet yesterday. Heartworms are clear but we are treating her for tapeworms. Other than that and the huge bald spot on her back she's fine. The vet believes that spot may be a chemical burn. She plays really well with our lab and doesn't have an interest in the cats. As a matter of fact she seems to be afraid of them and walks a wide circle around them.

If you're serious about a pup....my neighbor "found" a cute little boy (he's definitely ALL boy, everything is still there in place ) but he's soooooo cute--looks like a Beagle/Chihuahua mix. Very nice little guy. She still had him as of Friday......let me know. But he MUST get fixed!!!!
