Thanks for all the input I really appreciate it. The people we bought the house from had just switched from TW to AT&T because of customer service issues. Maybe we will give AT&T a try...

Thanks!

We just moved out of our home that had TW and I AM SO HAPPY to have GVTC although I am lacking a few channels. TW is awful here in SA and all of last month we barely had any service on all three because they were fixing a problem! I would have went with ATT U Verse but my area doesnt have it yet and had to get GVTC. I strongly suggest sticking with what you have or ATT U verse but not TWC. All the best!

AT&T for sure. I wish I had the offering, but I'm stuck with TWC.
Tried to order the Mayweather fight this past weekend. Started trying to order at 7:30, fight started at 8, finally got the fight by 8:30....called TWC and you couldn't even get a dialtone, just a busy signal.
Tried contacting them online and I was number 248 in the queue. Horrible customer service.

ok, off my soapbox now.

I had Time Warner for close to 4 years. They kept overcharging me and changing the rates or raising them at will. I just finally got tired of it and switch to AT&T. I had been thinking of doing it for 2 years. They offerered me 300 dollars in Visa Gift cards to switch. I wondered if they would actually send them but they did!! SO glad I switched. A hundred times better. I now can tape 4 shows instead of 2 and I can watch whatever I want . Before I could only tape 2 shows and I had to be watching one of them. Now my bill is only 130 dollars a month plus I get showtime and other stuff I neve had before. Honestly I don't know how much TWC can keep jacking up their prices when AT&T is offering such a better deal.

Thanks for the code. I'll give it a try. I am so glad I asked. We don't have TW here in Maryland, so I wasn't familiar with them at all. However, my Mom has them in California and really doesn't like them. I really appreciate all the info.

Default New Time Warner Cable Menu/Guide

I have been unhappy with TWC for awhile now, mainly with their crappy DVRs and lack of functionality. I got a notice in the mail a few weeks ago saying that their new UI was rolling out soon. I was looking forward to it, finally an improvement coming. Still have minimal HD recording space and still lack remote DVR scheduling, but anything is better than nothing.

So I get home yesterday and notice the new guide and menus. Look a little nicer for sure. Start playing around with it, and wow, what a huge POS!
- You can't skip ahead to a future date anymore to schedule a recording. You manually have to hold the right arrow down and scroll. Pain.
- On mine when I change channels, it takes 3-4 seconds to finally change, then the picture and audio comes in for a quick second, cuts out to black with no sound for another 1-2 seconds, then comes back the way it should. Really? This is ridiculous. I have great TVs and receivers in several rooms, both have this problem, never before.
- The DVR list of recordings shows so little info on each recording that you literally have to go into each show you have recorded and read the full info description to what it is.
- You can only see 4 channels on a page at a time on the guide, causing extra and unnecessary scrolling. Waste of time.

Anyone else experience this? Am I missing something? Please correct me if I am wrong.

These are just some of the gripes I have so far after one day. I called customer service about the first 2 problems, the ones that are major issues for me. Zero help, said that is the way it is.

I'm done with them. I have been thinking about switching to DirecTV for awhile but have been reluctant to change. I have been with TWC for over 7 years. But now it is easy. I'm done.

I've been wondering about this. I've received all the mailings, but still have the old guide. I hope the new system isn't as bad as it sounds...

Same here, I still have the old guide and what really got me was that Lost didn't record on the DVR on Tuesday night, as it usually does without fail. LOL no clue why, either....

I hear on another message board that it is possible to call in, request to keep the old guide and your box won't be migrated. It may be possible to call and ask to have the old guide back.
