Hello,

I love crab, lobster and shrimp. Can anyone tell me about the good seafood restaurants there?

Thank you in advance.

I honestly think you can't beat buying from the seafood roadshow at Costco and preparing at home...but otherwise, I suppose Sea Island would be my choice for dining out and getting decent seafood at a decent price. There are the foo-foo places if you want to spend $$$.

I'll always talk about seafood! My overall fav is SEA ISLAND, it's not fancy but it's consistantly good quality.

PAPPADEAUX is good, most items are seasoned in a Cajun style.

WATER STREET is good, but I prefer the first two.

I dont care too much for the bigger chains like RED LOBSTER or JOES CRAB SHACK, but they are here.

You can get some great blue crab dishes at a lot of the small Chinese/Vietnamese places around town. Also, the lobster at FORMOSA GARDENS is great!

I haven't been in a long time, so I can't vouch for it recently, but I really loved Pesca on the Riverwalk. I took a group there and they're still raving about it.

I don't think there's any truly good seafood-oriented restaurants in SA (unless you're looking for fried fish & chips kinda thing), but many restaurants have a number of seafood dishes on their menu which are excellent. My favourite is La Frite but there are others.

Wildfish at Huebner & 1604. It's a pretty nice night out, but outstanding food and service. Call for ressies, they book up!

I've said it before........and it's still true..........Sandbar is the best in SA, and one of the best in TX. And it's really not terribly expensive, despite what others (many of whom haven't been there) think.

Of course, prices vary greatly depending on what you order. It's incredibly fresh, and expertly prepared.

But be prepared. This isn't a deep-fried seafood sorta place. Almost everything is served cold, and lots of it is raw. Lobster bisque and blue crab chowder are awesome, though. Perfect for 103-degree summer nights!!!
