I was surprised that this Valero has good b-fast tacos too. The tortillas are homemade . They sell the tortillas by the dozen but I've never bought them.

Nick, I bought some fruit kolaches at a bakery in Fredericksburg and they were not good at all. I think they were about three days old. Of course, there are bakeries all up and down Main Street so I'm sure there is a good one there.
I can't remember the name of the one I went to, but I would know it if I saw it and I won't be going back, blah.

EDIT: The name of the place was Old German Bakery & Restaurant.

Well, it says they're old right there in the name, ttg.

Old baked goods are evil.

I've heard Valero's breakfast tacos are good, too. My son just absolutely loves the kolaches, though, and I always sneak a bite of the bread. He knows he can keep the sausage all to himself, though--looks really greasy!

This is good advice that I have heard from several others that enjoy kolaches.

When did kolaches become popular in SA? I grew-up here and can say I had never heard of or seen them by the time I moved away in 92. Fast forward to 2006 and they were everywhere.

Ohhh...the bakery on the main drag in Boerne makes the BEST ones!!!! Worth the drive for sure!!!
Paka, you are right! It's called Snowflake Bakery and they are wonderful. They have some of the croissant kind with ham and cheese and they are huge. Also good is the sausage. They put Valero to shame. But I understand not everyone can make it to Boerne. I happen to work here. I have resorted to Valero when I am hungry though!

If anybody travels IH 10 east towards Houston, there is the Oakridge Smokehouse in Schulenburg that also has a good selection of kolaches. Just an FYI for anyone traveling that way or back. Also is a bakery outside of Hallettsville heading towards Shiner that has homemade kolaches.

Thanks for the tip about the bakery in Boerne.

Is the snowflake bakery in Boerne part of the chain of SnowFlakes? There is also one in Bandera and I saw one the other day in some little town but I can't remember where
They are good, I just wish they were fresher. When I go in there they have to microwave the sausage kolaches. And I am talking about at 7:00 in the morning.

Bear Moon Bakery in Boerne (also on Main Street) has some fantastic kolaches as well. All of their baked goods are great and their weekend Breakfast Buffet is fabulous as well!

Kolache Factory would make a killing here in SA imo! I love them with eggs.
