We have our own practice softball field in the field in front of our house . I tease my husband that I am going to put a sign on the backstop that says "Ernest' field of dreams" .
It sure comes in handy during season when all the other fields are taken.

Sdodd, it probably depends on who is going to use the field if you can get one from free or not. We used to have adult softball on our little league fields, some of the adults would drink beer after the games (not get drunk, just a beer or two) and someone didn't like it so we can no longer use the fields. We did this when little league season was over and there were no kids; not just after games but after the season was over.

I guess someone just needed something to ***** about.

Good luck finding a field. Sorry I'm not familiar with fields in that area.
