I just accepted a job at Smithson Valley High School and we will be moving to the area. My question is which community would be better for my family. We are used to living in a small town, but want to be close to the grocery store, school, work, etc..

What do you mean which community? Do you have some in mind? Congratulations on the job, I think you will love Smithson Valley.

I didn't know how it would be to drive over from New Braunfels or Canyon Lake. How is the traffic? And is the area right around the school considered Smithson Valley, or Spring Branch?

I thought it was Spring Branch but I may be wrong. I sent you a message.

If it's not an inconvenience to others in your family, why not stay in Spring Branch? I lived on the outskirts of San Antonio (almost in Bulverde) and always preferred going into Spring Branch versus the Stone Oak area for my errands (groceries, cleaners, daycare, etc...). The area is lovely and a has just enough amenities that you don't have to go into the big city (SA). I would not recommend living at Canyon Lake. I have had friends live out there and because of how the roads run around the lake it always takes much longer to get where you need to be. Good Luck!

Thanks. We went down for my interview and didn't have much time to drive around. So Spring Branch has grocery stores, video stores, restaurants, etc..? I've actually ordered an i-phone so when I get down there, I can find things easily.
