Do you have an ad in the newspaper? mysanantonio.com

Can people twitter and facebook ads?

Are you near a college? Can you post it on their board?

if someone is really looking on craigslist they will find it. Make sure you put in keywords like the neighborhood and price. Just saying 2/1 northwest side $750 isn't going to do it. Adding things like "Monte Vista, or Medical Center, or Woodlawn" will get you the people. When i feel like looking (even though I know I'm never going to move) I always search for neighborhoods I like and in the price range I know i can afford.

ashbeeigh, too right! Drives me nuts when the specific neighborhood isn't listed. "Northwest San Antonio" is a big place!

Use the military housing site Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN.com) v6.1

CL works too.

Check with your bank....some of them offer free ads on their sites--also your employer may do this, too.

I'll 3rd or 4th the craigslist suggestion. There is an art to searching the listings on there, that's for sure.

And, is there a sign in front of the house, with a phone number to call? Or even better, a sheet with all the house's info on it, including the rental rate. Lots of people just jump in the car and go thru the areas they want to live in, and want to be able to call from the car. I remember when I was looking for a place it was so frustrating to see a place for rent but no way to find out any info. Seems like rentals used to go FAST--not sure now as it's been several years.

I used Rentals.com - Homes for Rent, Apartments, Houses for Rent, Vacation Rental Homes to find our current rental. Very easy to navigate and not cluttered like craigslist.
