from: WILDERNESS OAK E.S. to: 29.627339,-98.50668 - Google Maps

I dropped the starting point in the neighborhood of a potential rental. We like the access to 1604 from here (We're good right?) but we don't allow our kids to take the bus.

So... does driving them "12 minutes" north become a 45 minute AM trip and negate our saving on time to 1604?

Maybe we should just live near the school and drive down!

FYI, We wanted the Johnson area on the EAST side of 281 but NOTHING for rent in the 3k range with a lot.

The starting point that you have is in the Stone Oak ES area...are you renting while you build in WO area?

Assuming you do mean Wilderness Oaks E.S. and you plan to rent in the Oaks of Sonterra, your map is incorrect. The school's address is 21019 Wilderness Oak, which means that you are much closer to the school than shown in your map.

You just take a right coming out of the Oaks, right on Blanco and right again on Wilderness Oak; school will be on you left. Should be no more than 10 minutes going there in the morning. However, after you drop off your kids, it might take you longer to get back as Blanco is congested in the morning; this should change a bit after they complete the construction. Note also that you can cut back to Stone Oak from Knights Cross and then back to Huebner.

What's wrong with kids taking the bus? Mine do. Our bus driver is wonderful and it sure beats waiting in line to drop off/ pick up at school. W.O. has about 1200 students, which means there are an awful lot of cars there at any given time.

Wouldn't do much good unless I waited until the school year and went at 8:05 or whenever school starts...

Nothing against taking the bus...just not what I want to do with young girls...I was a bus-taker in decent town and learned a lot.

The way I see it, I'm not going to pay 1k a month in taxes to have my kids go to best public schools and then have them spend 40 minutes alone with older boys I wouldnt let them play with at home.

You have to pay taxes as a renter.

Well, it's in the rent. The homeowner surely figures that in when setting the rental rate, so yes, she's indirectly paying taxes.
