Pronounced Lano. LAN-o.
There are also some quirks closer to DFW.
Mexia is pronounced MEH-haya or some people say MEH-hair.
Rio Vista is RYE-o Vista
Alvarado is Al-var-AY-doe.
Coppell is Cop-PELL not Coppull.
Palestine is PAL-es-teen not Pal-es-TINE.
Waxahachie is WOCKS-a-hachie not WAX-a-hachie.
Cleburne is CLEE-burn and not Clay-burn.
Lancaster is Lanc-KISS-ter and not LAN-cast-er
Celina is Sill-EYE-na and not Sill-E-na
Bonham in Bon-UM and not Bon-HAM.
The quirks of Texas!

Actually, it is pronounced " 'Lotes " by the locals, with a heavy fake Spanish accent!
By the way, how does everyone else pronounce "Greune" here? I hear a lot of people call it "Green," but it should be more like "Grune." At least that is how my German mother said it.
But "Days of Allah" will always be my favorite!
Cheers! M2
