Find a pipe coupling that will fit inside the hose and secure with a hose clamp. Adapt whatever pipe fittings that will get you to a 3/4 male on the end. A garden hose will fit onto the male 3/4 pipe thread. Note: I think it may be illegal in San Antonio to run your washing machine drain water onto your lawn due to the phosphates in the wash water. So I am thinking it may be also illegal to collect it and use it for watering purposes. I don't know for sure but it may be something you should be aware of if you plan to do it. Watering you lawn with water that would otherwise be wasted just makes to much sense to be true. I'm sure there must be a law against it.

My neighbors across the street have installed rain spouts off the gutters recently. They are using big Black plastic barrels. I'll try to remember to ask them this afternoon where they got them from.

omg...how weird that i just saw this post today --- i know it's a couple months old but just yesterday, across the frontage rd from Willie's on I-10W...outside 1604...I saw a guy and his wife selling barrels...55gal drum type --- lt. blue ones --- they had tons of 'em...i asked my husband why they would be selling them, not thinking what people would use them for...but there ya go...tons o' barrels for sale...don't know how much they were though...
