When is Stone Oak and 281 + Evans to Trinity Oaks getting some real restaurants not these franchise cookie cutters. Also while DT SA PTB argue about building downtown skyscraper over Joske, other cities are going through a building boom downtown aka Austin. One day SA will wake up and find out that Austin is competing with it and main goal is to take over SA as the number 3 city in Texas

Definitely need more different types of restaurants other than Mexican

Regarding stone oak, you need creative types to want creative eating establishments. Creative types don't live in soul sucking suburbs. Why do you think that the pearl is booming and the Southtown has the Monty ect....

The status quo? Wtf are you talking about? Again, how old are you?

It's the same nonsense from you. You ask the same, most inane rhetorical questions that seem to be driven by some inferiority complex. You do this here and other forums I'm a member of.

If you can honestly see the urban development taking place in SA and what's in the pipeline and still make this (stupid) thread (again) then I don't know what you want. Maybe you don't either.

Exactly, which is why Stone Oak works for some (and not for others)- I suppose some out there like having a Sonic just steps away from their house.

I'm just glad that I don't and I won't. That would be my personal nightmare.

number 3 city? in what? SA is #2 in population and Austin will never catch us.

I think the OP is thinking Metropolitan Statistical Area or metro area, but saying "city." The actual city of Austin is not likely to overtake San Antonio in population anytime soon, if ever.

However, the Austin metro area is only a few hundred thousand in population away from that of the San Antonio metro area. If the growth rate of the capital city and its suburbs continue to outpace that of San Antonio over the next few decades, as it often has in the past decade, you never know. However, probably not likely anytime soon, if ever.

In any case, even in Austin you often find most of the eclectic restaurants closer in to the city center, and not as much in the suburbs. Still, in Stone Oak and the areas of far north to northwest side actually seem to have a nice mix of non-corporate eateries.

The area that the OP mentioned is not really Stone Oak...

Not that you asked but Stone Oak actually has tons of non chain restaurants including:

Copa
Trilogy Pizza
Aldaco's
Capricciosas
Thai Chili
Sake Cafe
Pericos
Drew's American Grill

The list really goes on and on and on.
