San Antonio Not Older Than Philadelphia

Royal744 said one thing with which I don't quite agree. San Antonio was founded in 1718, and is not older than Philadelphia, which was founded in 1682 (and is in turn a Johnny-come-lately by the standards of Boston, which was founded in 1630).
That being said, I think Royal's post summarized many of the things that make San Antonio a unique and very appealing city. In fact, I find those things about San Antonio so appealing that I'll be moving there (from an older city) within a few months.

I wanna go (love Blue October), but she won't let me... it's gonna be at Sunset Station/Lonestar Pavillion (fun shows there - lots of cute boys with tattooos! giggle ) I'll be happy to adopt you as another daughter when you get here!!!

awesome do you know of any places with month to month rent that permit dogs? I'll need to do that till i get settled in and am sure that i'm going to make the move permanent (like it there, find a job, etc.). i'm not sure what district. with alternative licensing it's wherever i get hired hopefully northside since that's the nicer area. going to be coming with my mom in a couple weeks to check out the program, and if all goes well going back at the end of may.

You're right, NCNO. Father Damian Massenet (?) purportedly "christened" the site of San Antonio where San Pedro Springs was (in San Pedro Park) supposedly in 1691 and named the site after San Antonio de Padua the city's patron saint. This is a bit of a stretch because the Canary Islander settlers didn't arrive as a group until around 1731. The Alamo was named after San Antonio de Valero, the distinction of which escapes me.
According to the InfoPlease website: Philadelphia, "the City of Brotherly Love, was settled in 1681 by Capt. William Markham, who, with a small band of colonists, had been sent out by his cousin, William Penn. Penn arrived the following year with the intention of creating a refuge for the Quakers."
I repeated a base canard told to me by our own Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau who believe in the adage, "Close enough for horsehoes!"

Coming From The Sticks Of Pa

But for me, I knew that we were called to live here and there's a joy in this that overshadows the "negative" stuff.

LAZINESS IS REALLY A BIG ISSUE OUT HERE AS WELL, AND ALSO LACK OF COMMON SENSE, JUST WHAT YOU HAVE SAID ABOUT SOME OF THE CONS, I ALSO BELIEVE I WILL NOT SEE TO MUCH OF THAT, IN COMPARISON TO OUT IN THE STICKS OF PA. NOT TO SAY THEY HAVE NO TEETH, AND THEY SMELL BAD.
WHERE IF YOUR NOT 4 GENERATIONS LIVING HERE FOLKS WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. LIKE THEY BELONG TO PART OF THE ELITE, YEAH THE ELITE OF TOOTHLESS WONDERS. I'M CRACKING UP
I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S THE MINDSET YOU ARE SPEAKING OF? BUT THAT'S THE MINDSET HERE, NOT ONE PERSON IS WELCOMING. I KNOW THAT WHEN I WAS OUT THERE A FEW MONTHS BACK, FOLKS WERE SO FRIENDLY, COMPARED TO HERE, WHERE FRIENDLY IS A FOREIGN THING.
JUST PLAIN RUDE!!!!!COMING FROM NJ BEING BORN AND RAISED THERE I CAN TELL YOU FIRST HAND THE FOLKS HERE, ARE THE WORST!!!!!
PEOPLE CAN NOT BELIEVE WHEN I TELL THEN THAT, BECAUSE FOLKS THINK THAT JUST NY AND NJ ARE WHERE THE RUDE LIVE.
WRONG PA IS WHERE THEY LIVE!!!!!!!
