Salvation Army at South Alamo and South Flores. That should be reasonable. And they bargain if you think a piece is too pricey.

I just started looking for furniture last night. I've had good luck with Rooms To Go. It's not exactly cheap but it's far from expensive. You get a lot for your $$ and the furniture seems to hold up well. I checked out Ashley's. It seems cheaper all the way around but a friend told me what she bought there did not hold up well. A neighbor just purchased a kitchen table at JC Penny's last week and was happy with the quality and price.
You can always give Craig's List a try. My DD buys stuff on there all the time and is very happy with her "finds." My kitchen table will be on there this weekend if I can figure out how to post it!
Good luck in your new home! I know you'll love San Antonio.

there's a brightly painted store on 90 near Lackland, they sell Ashely. Browse around and make a cash offer well below retail, they'll take it.

I bought from them an Ashley sofa and it broke. I take good care of the furniture, didn't have kids on it or move it around a lot.
The mattresses and dining room table have stood the time of time though.

Has anyone ever been to the furniture outlet store located across I-35 from the Outlet Mall in San Marcus? I was wondering if it was worth the drive up there.

I moving, selling an Armoire, dining room table, coffee table end table.

All are in very good shape, and willing to let it go cheap.

I was about to put it on Craigslist.
