I used to eat at Little Hipp's on McCullough & Evergreen for many, many years. Since it closed in 2002 it has re-opened as Timbo's Burgers ( Tim was the manager) on Broadway by the Pearl Brewery. It has the original booths, jukebox and waitresses. Best burger I've had in a while. Has anybody else been there? What's your opinion. Is it the same? Good/Bad points please.

I never ate at Little Hipps. I did eat at Timbo's a couple of weeks ago. It was good but it is a VERY long drive for me so I probably won't be going back.
Maybe, if I am in the neighborhood I will return. It was kinda pricey for a burger; three burgers, three teas and one order of fries was something like $28 plus tip.
My dad said that is was better than Chris Madrids. I have never been to Chris Madrids so I can't tell you.

Timbo's is a little on the pricey side. Chris Madrids burgers are hugeeeeeeeeeeee. Nachos are pretty good to. If your on Broadway check out Cheesy Jane's.

We've tried Timbo's twice. It was pricey considering that the food wasn't any better than mediocre. I think a whataburger hamburger tastes better. Of course, different ambience.

I eat at Timbo's quite regularly, and easily vote it NUMERO UNO hamburger in San Antonio...it's WAAAAAAAY better than Chris Madrid's. Cheesey Janes is ehhh, just so-so IMO. When you go to Timbo's, be sure and order the Shypoke Eggs...As far as pricing, Timbo's seems on the level with Madrid's, and certainly Jane's (which I believe is pricier?).

Can you believe that I have never ate at Bobby J's?? I have driven past that place hundreds (maybe thousands) of times.
So it sounds like you are saying they are good???

Have you tried Babe's in Helotes? It is in one of those new strip centers by Sonic. It is always packed with cars. I haven't tried it yet.

Cheesy Jane's location at Sonterra only lasted a couple of years. I was underwhelmed by the quality and prices the one time I visited it.

I just tried Big’z Burger Joint on 1604 and liked it much better than Cheesy Jane's. It's usually packed, so other folks must like it, too.
