Coming to Kerrville for work? Forget it! NO GOOD JOBS IN KERRVILLE
I've been looking for a decent job in Kerrville TX for a few months now.
I am certified in a trade with numerous factory certifications in more than one area of my field. Basically what is happening here is that you either make minimum wage or you make over $150,000 in the hospital industry.
From what I gather from talking to numerous people her it is not the economy causing this it has always been this way here. Basically it seems to me that the wealthy business owners are just ripping off their employees. From what I can see you either live in a million dollar house on the hill or you live in and old trailer or even a run down camper. I've never seen so many people living in RVs in my life. I don't mean in an RV park...I mean an RV in the yard next to the house.
It is despicable and those employers in Kerrville and Ingram who are doing this should be ashamed!
I will say with the economy the way it is I'm sure it is worse now than ever due to the available workforce out there needing jobs. The economy crash seems to not have hit this area as bad as most others but don't think because of that you will have a better chance of landing a job that pays fairly. That just doesn't happen here.
Now the area is nice, the people are friendly but you better enjoy it on a peanut butter sandwich if you aren't one of those people who work in the hospital industry.
Maybe when these employers lose their business they will be in the same boat. I know, it never works out that way.
I hope this post spiders in Google right to the top for keywords like Kerrville Texas, Kerrville Jobs, Ingram Texas, Ingram jobs, moving to Kerrville, Moving to the Texas Hill Country, Texas Hill Country and more so the world will see it!

Wow. Have you ever thought of moving or commuting? Kerrville->SA is closer than parts of metro houston to downtown.

Wow, funny... my husband has a very good job in Kerrville. He is in neither the medical industry or retail (which is the bulk of income out here). We do not live on peanut butter either. Maybe you just are not looking in the right place. From what I have seen out here there are alot of people complaining about the job market but want to do the very least amount of work for a fantastic paycheck. Hard working people is what is needed out here. Not whiners.

I know this sounds weird, but you sometimes have to live where the jobs in your particular field are...so while you might make tons of money custom building surf boards in a coastal region, you might starve to death with those exact same skills in Idaho.
Do the particular factory certifications you have obtained apply to JOBS available in the Kerrville area???

Napa Valley sounds like the place for you. You could earn a living stomping a lot of sour grapes.

I know for a fact that James Avery is a good employer. You're probably not going to become a millionaire working there, but it is a fair wage.
I wonder if the OP was one of the many people that are moving here because they here there are a ton of jobs, but they never bother researching whether or not that includes their field. I've personally never understood the whole move somewhere without researching it thing..

Yeah ,pretty much a small Texas town -not too much going on and jobs are scarce. Some are doing ok
but many of my friends have been struggling . If you have some special talent in the medical field you will be ok . Maybe Boerne would be better . Kerrhell not too much happens...

That's a good point. Although, Kerrville is getting there...biggest town in the hill country. They are also expanding their airport.
