The Tootie Pie Co,Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire two Benny’s Bagels locations in San Antonio with plans to roll out the first Tootie Pie Shops.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The two shops — located at Bitters and Huebner, and Highway 281 and Evans Road — sell coffee, bagels, light sandwiches and pastries from 7 am to 3 pm. The shops have been in business for several years and have an established clientele.

The Tootie Pie Co. (OTCBB: TOOT) plans to extend the operating hours until 9 p.m. and expand the menu to include whole pies, pie by the slice and other dessert offerings.

now if they'll just bring in some steam trays and fill them with pastrami and corned beef, I'll be a regular. Why is that so hard to find?

Benny’s Bagels is horrible anyway, over priced and not very tasty..

I live right next to the Evans location and wonder how that place stays open.

agree 100 percent!! We enjoyed the place a few years ago, but then they really inflated their prices and started making some yucky sandwiches. Of course, they lost our business.

I enjoyed Benny's, especially their Early Riser bagel on occasional mornings. They made great muffins as well. Sad to see them leave.

Never been to the Evans location but the Huebner location is wonderful, in my opinion.

We were there on Saturday as I was under the impression from the thread that they were closing soon (and I had to make sure I got one last Cinnamon Sugar bagel!). Not the case. They will still be serving bagels and the like but Tootie Pie will roll in their product and the hours will be extended.

The store at Evans and 281 has closed. Stone Oakers must not eat enough pie.
