Default *cheap* Rental house w/ yard in SA?

Hi. Is there a safe neighborhood/area that has small, maybe one or two bedroom houses for rent with backyards for my pups -- maybe even duplexes if my dogs would be allowed in the yards? I'm not looking for anything fancy or new; I currently live in a house that's 120 yrs. old and I love its charm. I'm looking for something really inexpensive, but decent, and in a safe neighborhood (for a single woman). Does this exist in SA or will I have to look in the burbs? I pay $650 now and would hope to pay that or under, but maybe up to $800 .... if I had to.

I went to realtor.com and used zip codes 78240, 78250, 78251 and came up with several rentals (most look like duplexes, but there are some houses also). Many of them accept pets with a deposit. I'm sure you will be able to find something decent within that price range, and you don't necessarily have to stick with those zips, either; they are just areas that I am familiar with. Good luck!

wow. if those places are as decent as they look, those prices are amazing. it looks like i could get something much nicer than what i have. so would anything in the northside school district be a nice area or are there some shady neighborhoods to look out for?

You may also want to try 78218. Just avoid the Camelot 2 subdivsion. Camelot 1 is fine.

Default Northside ISD

I would drive around the neighborhoods you found houses you like in and check them out. Just because a house is in NISD does not always guarantee a nice neighborhood so it might be good to check the out in person before you persue it.
