What a wonderful show of support today for the family of LCPL Babine as his body was returned to San Antonio. I'd say there were 2,000 people there lining the road. May have been even more than that but it was hard to tell standing in the lines. Thank you to all who showed their support. To the Babine family, may God be with you during this very difficult time!

Absolutely, I would like to thank each and every person that came out...it was quite spectacular. I was on the flightline when the plane arrived, and the Marine contingent and aerial port squadron did an outstanding job of ensuring all honors were given. The roads of Kelly Field/Port San Antonio were lined with people paying their respects, and there were American flags all over the place.

God bless each and every one who came out, and please keep the Babines in your prayers.

Cheers! M2

I also noticed he had a motorcycle escort for safety and security. His comrades showed up to give full support on thier bikes.

Yes, it was touching to be a part of to be able to represent the rest of the city in this tribute to this hero. It was about 1:35 before he came by, but worth it

That was the Patriot Guard Riders; an organization whose main mission is "to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family to show their sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities; and to shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors."

I am not sure Travis rode motorcycles, but there was a large military presence in addition to the Marine squad that handled the honors. I am sure the family was especially appreciative of the San Antonio civilians that came out to honor their son. In this very trying time for them, I know it meant a lot to them to see such support and respect for Travis.

I made it a priority to be on 36th Street today. It was fantastic to say the least to see all the people out there Honoring Lance Cpl. Travis Babine and Supporting his Family.

I was able to catch the faces of several Family members as the procession passed by and you could see how Thankful they were for the support of all those who were present.
