What's wrong with everyone that complains about this building? Are you serious? For once downtown gets something that looks nice. The skyline has looked the same for years! It's looked brown and dull. All the buildings are short and ugly. It's about time that we get at lease one building that looks modern and big. It also covers up the ugly tower from many angles. Thank Goodness. I hope we can get more nice buldings. Come on, we're the 3rd largest city in Texas, we need a downtown to show for it.

Its not bad...I think it looks good but its shape is odd. I am just disappointed that I used to be able to see the Tower of the Americas from the Rivercenter Mall, but now all I see is the Grand Hyatt. But I am with LiveUrban, any building development downtown is good because we need a more modern downtown

Enough with the glamour shots. This is what the great wall of Hyatt actually looks like in broad daylight to actual tourists, conventioneers and residents driving toward downtown. Yeah, pretty. And our City Council approved this design.

y'all crack me up. When it was going in I seemed to be one of only a few who didn't like it. Now it's in, I'm the only one who likes it. I guess I can't manage to get with the right club

Any view of downtown during the day is not so attractive. The Marriot, Courtyard, etc, all not very attractive anyway. Coming from the south in the morning, the Hyatt always looks colorful and gleaming.
My real view is only of the top of it, and mostly depends on whether or not the trees were trimmed . Mostly I have the tower to look at, which I happen to like. But then I'm weird that way

I just see progress. I think that's a good thing for SA. I hope they keep it filled!

I have mixed opinions about it.

On the one hand, it does add a little density to dt.

On the other, it looks unfinished, like it is still under construction.

On the other hand....it's kind of like Kate Moss when you look at it sideways! It sort of disappears.

C'mon, someone has to repond to this. I grew up here and I am admittedly very sentimental. I certainly don't think the Tower of the Americas is ugly or that the skyline is dull. I like the skyline because it says "home" to me. I'm all for progress, but I wish the view of the Tower wasn't blocked.
