Just stop, there is no way San Antonio compares to Austin, I'm from Houston and have visited both on several occasions, Austin is by FAR way way way better than San Antonio. I mean really c'mon, Austin is younger, the nightlife is better (does SA have a nightlife?). All San Antonio has is the Alamo and the Spurs, and thats the truth, i know it hurts but its true. Im not even exagerating when I say that San Antonio is nasty! San Antonio is more comparable with Beaumont or Port Arthur just with a different demographic, because thats how small it feels. I reallly dont even know how this is an argument.

Stop hating on San Antonio. You're just jealous because you don't live here. San Antonio is one of the most underrated cities in the country. There's more to a city than nightlife. Austin is a college town, of course it would have more nightlife. San Antonio is rich in history. San Antonio is huge on tourism. The jewel of the city is something that no other city has to compare to it, the Riverwalk. San Antonio is one of the fastest growing cities in the country the last few years. If I remember correctly San Antonio added more residents this past year than Austin. I have only lived here 2 and a half years and I love it here. San Antonio is so unique. I have already decided this is where I want to retire and live the rest of my life. Anyone who talks negative about San Antonio hasn't experienced San Antonio to it's fullest and seen everything San Antonio has to offer. Shut up haters!

You're entitled to your opinion as am I, but seriously jealous? c'mon be real, you actually think i'd rather live in San Antonio than Houston, lol. There is absolutely no comparison, i still dont understand why people visit San Antonio, the Alamo isnt that great anyway, the riverwalk IS A JOKE!! omg i hate the riverwalk sooooooo much. And as many times i've visited San Antonio with my parents all my life, im sure ive probably seen more of San Antonio than you. Not to get into an argument, but San Antonio has absolutely nothing to offer especially to younger people, no nightlife, pathetic downtown, there is nothing there to be proud of PERIOD, im sorry if im rude, but im just tired up people hyping up San Antonio for NO REASON.

So, I guess the thousands of college students who go to school in SA stay in the library on Saturday nights? There are plenty of nightclubs, bars, restaurants, etc. for people of all ages. As you mature, you'll see that cities appeal to people in different ways. You may not find SA fun or interesting, but lots of people (young, old, partiers, recluses) do. To generalize that SA has nothing to offer young people is silly. I might add that you might have visited SA many times, but you obviously can't know it like someone who has lived there for years. It's not for you...we get it.

Sorry I would take a Houstonian's opinion with a grain of salt, dealing with quality of life issues. That's like asking a vegetarian if the Palm or Morton's has better steak.

"the Alamo isnt that great anyway, the riverwalk IS A JOKE!!"
How closed-minded can you be? The Alamo isn't that great huh? That's weird because isn't the Alamo the most visited site in the whole state of Texas? More visted than anything in Houston. AND while we're on that topic, the Riverwalk that you call a joke is the SECOND most visited site in Texas. Hmmm, interesting. Oh yea, AND is Astroworld still open??? How bout Fiesta Texas??? Yep, Fiesta Texas is. Oh OK, hmmm, where's SeaWorld??? Isn't Houston closer to the ocean than San Antonio, but yet they chose San Antonio to open SeaWorld. They must have known that San Antonio attracts more people. Tower of the Americas, does Houston have a tower? Oh, didn't think so. Back to the Riverwalk, please explain to me how it is a joke. There is NOTHING like it in the country. If it's a joke, howcome so many people visit it? On any given night, there's probably more people walking along the riverwalk, eating at the many restaurants, shopping at the many stores and hanging out at the many clubs and bars, than there is wondering around downtown Houston. If there's a city in Texas where there is not much to do, it's Houston. All Houston is, is skyscrapers and traffic. Who wants that? Like I said before, YOU'RE JEALOUS! You must be a Rockets fan to... GO SPURS!

I, for one, am grateful that ANYONE that likes Houston finds us "nasty"....keeps those that makes Houston "what it is" from moving here...and in my opinion, that is a GOOD thing!

I thought city-data was a forum to help people to offer as much knowledgeable information as possible.
Why are posts like NewYorkCapitals passing through the crack?
It is nothing more than a immature rant hoping to push as much button as possible while being ignorant, rude, close-minded, insulting.
I know the MODS try to do their best and I am not trying to call them out, not at all, but stuff like that maddens me to no end.
Have a worthy purpose to your "rant" or commentary/observation don't just sling words like they mean nothing more than what a half completed educated has taught.
Sorry, there is no place here for that stuff.

Oh, come on.......it was refreshingly amusing to hear something besides the predictable Chamber of Commerce hype we're usually inudated with. I mean, someone dared to say that SA was not paradise. So what?
